I Owe You an Apology

Hey,

I owe you an apology. I promised I'd keep writing this newsletter and here I am, a year later, trying to convince you again that this time is for real.

I know you're busy and don't care too much about this — and that's fine. But I want to be honest with you.

So, why did I stop?

Life got in the way. As it does for most of us. The busyness of modern life — work, family, kids, partner, side projects — trying to squeeze this in was hard. And if I'm being real, after creating content in the crypto space for so long, everything started feeling like the same loop. BTC up this week, BTC down the next. A new politician talking about ETH. Another DeFi protocol hacked. The simulation was stuck on repeat, lots of fluff but no real substance.

Why am I back now?

The world is changing fast. AI is disrupting industries left and right — and it's only getting started. I found myself thinking a lot lately with no real way to express what's on my mind. Writing has always been how I make sense of things, and I figured: why not share those thoughts? In a world drowning in AI slop, there's value in something more human. So that's what this is — a direct channel between you and me.

What's been going on since last time?

A lot. The company I was working at got acquired by an Australian company. The wallet project I was building got killed — and that's about as much as I can say for now. On the side, I've been building a few things: holdii.io and gitgazette.com (this one is particularly fun!). I've also had some failed launches like signalboard.live — but I learned a lot from those too. Oh, and I have a new personal site: sheinix.com. I'll be posting there as well if you want to follow along.

There's a lot more to share, but all in due time.

What to expect from here?

I don't want to overpromise on topics or format. I want to keep this light — I know you're busy and only want the good stuff. So expect a mix of personal journey learnings, crypto and AI takes, and whatever else comes to mind. Short, honest, no filler.

One thing I'm excited about right now?

Change. Things are shifting on so many fronts, and while change is always uncomfortable, there's something exciting about it. Lots of great stuff happening at the intersection of AI and crypto that I can't wait to dig into with you.

But that's enough for now. I'll see you next week.

Cheers, Juan
